This classroom is for children under 2! Children are added to this class all year long depending on their birthdates and when children in the class turn 2 and move to our multiage Preschool class. Infants in this class are learning to roll over, sit, stand, walk, eat, and everything else there is to know about the world around them, and are encouraged to do so with lots of interaction, engaging environments, and plenty of tummy time! Older infants and toddlers in this class are learning to walk steadily, run, talk, use chairs, sleep on cots, and to participate in short group experiences!
Children in the Preschool class learn in a multiage group of two-, three-, and four-year-olds. Children in this classroom are beginning to learn "academic" concepts and are beginning to work on social, emotional, cognitive, and motor skills. Because of differing attention spans, they are divided into an older and younger group for meeting times. After meeting children are divided into two multi-age groups, and each group goes to one of the Preschool classrooms. Different activities, centers, and small group activities are offered in each classroom, but children have the opportunity to participate in all activities. We offer full-time, mornings-only, and part-week options in this class.
The Pre-K class is for children who will be going to Kindergarten in the upcoming school year. Children in this classroom are beginning to learn "academic" concepts and are working on Kindergarten readiness in their social, emotional, cognitive, and motor skills. In this class, we offer transportation to and from Southern Boone's Pre-K program, as well as morning-only and part-week schedules.
